These ugly ducklings played a vital role during the Pacific conflicts of world war two. With a ten hour fuel capacity, they primarily served as ocean rescue craft and submarine spotters, covering large areas each mission. Photo details: Canon 40D, ISO 100, 1/640th second exposure with a Canon EF 70-200mm IS USM lens @ f-7.
