Gossamer Wings.
 
Countless numbers of dragonflies kept me company as I camped on the shores of Lake Tutira, Hawke's Bay. Their darting, stair-step flight proved very difficult to shoot, until this individual (and reflection) finally flew into focus at the right moment. Insects are the true rulers of the air. Photo details: Canon 350D, ISO 200, 1/500th second exposure with a Sigma 18-200mm lens @ f-11.
