Well Guarded Treasure.

A remarkably small clutch of three Pukeko eggs sits open in a field. You may be forgiven for thinking they would be an easy target for predators, but no. The only way I was brave enough to get this close to the nest was from the safety of my car. Pukeko form large family groups that guard communal nests with surprising aggression.
