Newly formed Lake Tasman shimmers
beneath shattered mountains in the Aoraki Mt Cook National
Park. Twenty years ago, the Tasman Glacier terminated at this point.
However, in the time since it has retreated up the valley, leaving a
classic terminal lake. Some of the 'small' icebergs floating in the
still waters are actually about the size of an office block. Photo
details: Canon 350D, ISO 400, 1/800th second exposure with a Sigma
20mm lens @ f-6.3.
