Posing Pest.
 
To most people, the common house fly is simply a pest to be swatted, sprayed, and generally chased out of the home. Most of the time, I would agree with those sentiments, but this little character happened to land in range of my lens and posed patiently as I got the camera settings right. Some would call such a close look ugly, but I never lose fascination with the amazing complexity of design in everyday insects. The fly-spray will stay on the shelf, for today at least... Photo details: Canon 350D, ISO 800, 1/160th second exposure with a Canon EF 35mm lens @ f-6.3.
